Who currently owns the Daytona
The Daytona is the most contested reference in this market and the hardest to build, and the leadership of it has changed hands twice in five years. Noob held it until 2022. Clean held it from then until the raid in July 2025. BT holds it now.
BT also trades as Best Time Factory and as BTF. Same workshop, three labels, which is normal here and a good reason to ask a seller which one they mean.
Why the Daytona is the hard one
Because of the movement, and specifically because of where the sub dials sit.
Rolex’s 4130 is an integrated chronograph. The chronograph works are designed into the calibre rather than added on top of a base movement, which lets Rolex place the three sub dials in a particular triangular arrangement and gives the pushers a short, definite action.
The cheap way to build a Daytona replica is to take a 7750, which is a modular chronograph, and dress it. The 7750 stacks its chronograph works above the base, which forces the sub dials into visibly different positions and gives the pushers a long soft travel. Anyone who has handled a real Daytona knows the difference within two presses.
BT builds clones of the 4130 and now the 4131, which is the calibre Rolex moved to in the 126500LN. That is what the position rests on.

The two current steel references, and it builds them properly.
- 116500LN. The ceramic bezel Daytona that ran until 2023, in both panda and reverse panda dials.
- 126500LN. The current reference, with the 4131 and the revised dial ring.

Where BT stops
Scope. BT is a chronograph workshop. It does not build a Datejust worth discussing and it does not chase the integrated bracelet sports watches. For those, look at ARF and ZF respectively.
That narrowness is the reason the Daytona work is good. It is also the reason a seller offering a BT everything is describing something that does not exist.
What does a BT Daytona cost?
Our Daytona range runs $1,350 to $2,600, which is the highest floor of any Rolex line we carry. A cloned chronograph calibre costs more to build than a time and date movement, and that is what the figure reflects rather than a markup on the name.
A Daytona quoted well below our band is almost certainly a 7750 piece. That is a legitimate cheaper product and it is not the same watch.
The three questions to ask
- Which calibre? The answer should be a 4130 or 4131 clone. If a seller says 7750, believe them and price accordingly.
- Which workshop, in writing? Daytona is the single most substituted reference in this market.
- Can you photograph the sub dial positions? A straight on dial shot settles the 4130 versus 7750 question without anyone having to open the watch.
