Corner geometry is the new problem

A square case is harder to get right than a round one, because a round case has one radius and a square case has four corners that all have to match. On the Cubitus each corner carries a specific softening, and the case sides run flat between them. In photos, look at all four corners together rather than one at a time. Any variation in the radius reads as sloppiness, and on a brand new reference there is no vintage character to excuse it.

The embossed dial in a square frame

The horizontal ridged dial carries over from the Nautilus, but here it sits inside a squared aperture, so the lines have to terminate cleanly at both edges rather than running off into a curve. Check where the grooves meet the dial edge on the left and right. They should end at the same depth and the same phase on both sides.

A new reference means fewer reference photos

The Cubitus is recent enough that there is less published material to compare against than for a Nautilus or a Submariner, so QC checking is harder. Use official product images rather than other sellers’ photos as your comparison, because in a young market the wrong details propagate quickly between listings.
