Rolex Day-Date Replica
Rolex Day-Date Green Dial Replica
$1,350.00Rolex Day-Date Black Dial Replica
$1,350.00The Day-Date is the only Rolex that spells the day out in full, and it has only ever been made in precious metal. That second fact is what makes it the hardest Rolex to clone convincingly, because the entire watch is a colour problem. Get the gold tone wrong and nothing else matters. This is the largest collection on the site, 42 pieces from $1,200.
Gold tone is the whole game
Rolex uses three golds and mixes each in its own foundry: yellow, white, and the pink-leaning Everose that resists fading. A weak clone plates a tone that is too brassy or too orange, and it reads wrong immediately in daylight even to people who know nothing about watches. Ask for QC photos taken near a window rather than under shop lights. Warm indoor light flatters bad plating, and daylight strips it bare. Look at the clasp and the link edges first, because plating thins at edges and that is where a poor finish breaks first.
The day wheel is a text-rendering test
Spelling the day out means fitting a word onto a curved disc in a small aperture, and the font, the letter spacing and the centring all have to be right. Check that the word sits centred in its window rather than creeping left or right, and that the letterforms match across every day of the week. Some factories get Monday perfect and Wednesday cramped, because the longest words are where the spacing gives out. If you can, ask for photos across two or three days.
The President bracelet
The Day-Date wears the President, a semi-circular three-piece link bracelet with a concealed Crownclasp, and it is the most finish-intensive bracelet Rolex makes. The links are rounded rather than flat, so there is nowhere to hide a tooling mark. In photos, look along the bracelet from a shallow angle: the curve should run as a continuous line, without flat spots where individual links sit slightly proud. The clasp should close flush and disappear, which is the entire point of a concealed clasp.
36mm or 40mm
Both sizes are represented here. The 36mm is the classic proportion and the one most associated with the reference, and it wears smaller than the number suggests because the President bracelet tapers hard. The 40mm reads as a modern watch. Neither is more correct. Wrist size decides it, and the 36mm suits most wrists better than people expect.
